James Bond Is One Of The Most Successful Movie Franchises Of All Time

The James Bond franchise is one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. With over 24 titles since the original, Dr No, in 1962 it has grossed over $14 billion in total.

Whether it's being an adversary or ally, the beautiful women that the British spy meets have made the actresses who played them household names.

Here we see who these actresses were and where they are today.

Britt Ekland wasn't an unknown actress before she played Mary Goodnight in the Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun.

The Swedish movie star had already starred in a number of hits such as the horror movie The Wicker Man and Get Carter.

In a star studded line up with James Bond played by Sir Roger Moore and Scaramanga by Sir Christopher many had high hopes for this installment of the Bond franchise.

Despite her new found fame, Bach was critical of the Bond franchise and the sexism that is in the movies.

Years later, Bach appeared in Playboy magazine in 1981 before retiring from acting in 1986.

Bach is also famous for marrying Beatles drummer Ringo Starr in 1981 and has two children from her previous marriage.

Bach struggled with alcoholism and heavy drug use during the 1980s and even checked herself into rehab. She has remained sober ever since.

Honor Blackman arguably played the Bond girl with the most famous name, Pussy Galore.

Born in 1936 although not officially the 'first Bond girl', that accolade goes to Eunice Gayson as Sylvia Trench, Andress' iconic scene where she emerged from the sea in her bikini has gone down as one of the most famous moments in the franchise. A scene that Halle Berry recreated in Die Another Day.

Andress went on to have a very succesful career after Bond including roles in Clash of the Titans and even played the character of Vesper Lynd in the 1967 parody movie of James Bond, Casino Royale.
